“Boarders enjoy each other’s company and value the effect boarding has on their education and personal development” (ISI report 2014)
Situated in 117 acres of private grounds near the village of Bembridge is Ryde School’s Bembridge Boarding House. A Grade II listed building, the accomodation has been adapted to suit boarding life with common rooms, study bedrooms and kitchen areas for boarders to make their own snacks outside of meal times. After supper and supervised Prep has been completed the grounds offer plenty of options for activities including basketball, football, walking and cycling. Inside board games, baking, snooker and table tennis prove popular in the evenings. There are so many activities on offer each evening and the camaraderie is always a pleasure to see.
At the weekends, a wide variety of activities are available at no extra cost: abseiling, aeroball, archery, caving, climbing, fencing, go karts, quad bikes, 3G swing and laser quest, whilst horse riding, sailing and most other water sports can be arranged locally upon request (at a small extra charge). Trips to local towns, the cinema and bowling alley are also arranged as required.
