Our pupils achieve their best when home and school are working together. Communication takes place in various ways - our parent portal allows parents to access reports, grades and check attendance. We have regular parents meetings and send a weekly newsletter home. We also encourage parents to talk with teachers and tutors directly.
All pupils have a form tutor, who is responsible for overseeing their work and progress. The form tutor will advise on subject choices for GCSE etc., and will see his/her tutees every morning for registration. He/she will write reports on tutees over the course of the year and will be in contact with parents if there is any cause for concern. The tutor should really be the first point of contact for parents.
Parents are encouraged to contact form tutors by email if they wish to communicate anything of a delicate or confidential nature, or if they are concerned about any aspect of their child’s work, progress or happiness, everyday matters such as homework, lost property, etc. Parents can contact subject teachers directly but can also contact the Head of Department or Head of Year in the Senior School and Housemaster or Housemistress in the Junior School if they have broader concerns.
Specific matters related to Sport or Physical Education should be raised with the appropriate games teacher.
