Rugby has a long tradition at Ryde School and to represent the school has always been done with pride. It is the primary sport for boys in the autumn term and supplemented by 7s competitions in spring term and touch rugby for both girls and boys through the summer. We are fortunate to have an excellent setting of pitches overlooking the Solent and a team of coaches from both the teaching staff and external coaches. With literally hundreds of years’ experience between them, they have coached and played around the world and our current staff include national coaches and Hampshire’s coaching officer.
Our aim is to have as many players as possible involved and enjoying the game and playing to the highest level, both at Ryde and for many years after they leave. To this end we have a full range of fixtures, work with London Irish’s development academy and have an active Old Rydieans team.
