The Scholarship application process for 2018 entry is now closed. Please email admissions to register interest for the 2019 Scholarships & Bursaries entry process.
Principle: Scholarships provide opportunities for talented individuals, predominantly but not exclusively, on the Isle of Wight to attend Ryde School. Their involvement with the School will develop their own skills and also enrich the student body in key areas of the School. No scholarship attracts a direct fee discount but being a scholar allows access to up to 100% means-tested bursaries. In addition to full scholarships, exhibitions may be awarded. These awards, however, only have limited bursary support.
There is a scholarship programme of support and opportunity for pupils receiving Scholarships and Exhibitions which is detailed in the booklet. All awards are subject to review: there will be a presumption of renewal but the School reserves the right to remove awards at the end of Years 6, 8 and 11. If a pupil is not showing an appropriate scholarly attitude a warning will be issued prior to any removal of an award.
For applicants moving into Years 7, 9 and the Sixth Form next September it is possible to apply for both an Academic Scholarship and either a Sports, Music, McIsaac (General) or Sailing Scholarship. It would, however, be extremely rare for two awards to be made to one applicant.
