Daily Routine

Pupils may arrive at school from 8.00 and take the opportunity of a cooked breakfast and must be here by 8.40 am in time to be registered in their tutor groups.

Every Monday there is a school assembly from 9.15 am followed by a Personal Development (PD) lesson. On Friday between 3.00 pm and 3.55 pm there is an extended tutorial session followed by either a chapel service or a sectional assembly. There are four lessons before lunch and two after lunch, all of 55 minutes’ duration. Afternoon school ends at 4.20 pm, but clubs, societies, rehearsals and games practices for team members are often held after this time as well as over lunch.

Pupils may stay on site after school until 5.30 pm to do homework in the Library or up to 6.00 pm to have supper club in the Dining Hall where we offer a cooked supper from 5.00p.m. so pupils can arrive home in busy working families having eaten and completed some of their work.

There is no school on Saturdays, but attendance is required three Saturdays during the year - Speech Day early in the Autumn term and when requested by the School Open Mornings in the Autumn and Spring terms. Attendance is also required at the evening School Carol Services, at the end of the Autumn term.

Pupils are expected to contribute fully to the extra-curricular life of the School. Younger pupils are expected to try a range of activies whilst older pupils may follow more specific interests. Most sports matches played against teams from the mainland occur on Saturdays and all pupils are expected to make themselves available to play in school matches on Saturdays during term time.
