The School Day
Please note changes in times from Summer Term 2010
The school is open to receive pupils between the hours of 8.00am to 5.15 pm Monday to Friday. We can only take responsibility for pupils between these hours. By arrangement with a member of staff activities can take place outside these hours.
There are six periods from 9.10 am to 1.00 pm, with a 20 minute break from 10.55 am to 11.15 am. Registration takes place at 8.45 am. On Mondays and Fridays there are school assemblies from 8.50 am to 9.10 am; on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8.50 am there are Tutor groups and on Wednesdays a Year or House assembly.
Lunch
Lunch is provided from 1.00 pm to 1.50 pm either in the dining room or coffee shop. The former provides a set meal, the latter allows pupils to buy snacks or sandwiches. Pupils are provided with a lunch card, which debits them electronically, so cash need not be required. Alternatively, pupils are welcome to bring their own packed lunches. Sixth Form pupils are allowed to leave the site to buy their own lunch.
Afternoons
After lunch there is registration at 1.50 pm followed by three periods from 2.00 pm to 3.45 pm. After school (and at lunchtime) a variety of extra curricular activities are on offer. At the end of the school day after a break of half an hour, it is expected that pupils are engaged in an activity, are working on prep or have gone home.
Extra-curricular activities will take place from 3.45 pm - 5.00 pm and the school buses will leave at 5.15 pm
