Sixth Form Curriculum

The principles of education at Ryde School are to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which allows the pupils a diverse range of alternatives and routes from year seven through to year thirteen. These can be divided into three major steps.

In the Lower Sixth pupils choose their AS levels from a wide range of options. The subjects offered include Geography, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, Environmental Science, French, Spanish, German, English, Media Studies, Theatre Studies, Business Studies, Economics, Fine Art, Textiles, Photography, ICT, Design and Technology, History, Politics and Music. Pupils are expected to take either three or four subjects to AS level, dependent upon their aspirations and capacity, and then progress with three only to A2. Support is offered to those struggling to make the grade and to those who aspire to the higher grade Universities. It is an expectation that the majority of pupils from Ryde School will progress on to University education.

The School offers revision courses in the Easter holidays for GCSE and A level pupils.
