As a small, caring boarding community, we find our International students settle very quickly into the life of the boarding campus. Friendships are often formed (via emails) even before the students arrive.  It is with delight that we watch these friendships develop, often resulting in exchange visits to each other’s homes/Countries even long after leaving school for universities etc.

Our overseas pupils succeed in being offered places at top UK universities (including both Oxford and Cambridge), as well as achieving success in the worlds of Art and Music.

We are proud to have an International boarding community, with pupils from many diffferent parts of the world including:

Bulgaria
Croatia
Czech Republic
Estonia
Germany
Hong Kong
India
Italy
Malaysia
Mexico
Moldova
Nigeria
Poland
Russia

Entrance Requirements
Although we do have a specialist ‘Teacher of English as a Foreign Language’ to offer support, your English should be fluent (age appropriate) in order to follow the school curriculum.
Entrance tests in Maths and English are also required, together with a satisfactory report from the pupils' current school.

Full Boarding
With the exception of official exeat weekends (dates published well in advance), and of course the main school holidays, you will, as a full boarder, reside in the boarding house throughout the term. You may of course stay with your family or friends on other weekends, providing prior arrangements have been made with Miss Sutton.
What do I need to bring? In addition to the uniform and equipment required for school, you would need to bring: suitable casual clothes, bedding (although this can be provided on request) nightwear, underwear, toiletries, and any personal items which would help you to feel ‘at home’.

Exeat weekends
Each term there are official exeat weekends and a half term holiday. The boarding houses are closed at these times. Boarders either return home, stay with their guardians/host family or may stay at a friends home, providing prior arrangements have been made with Miss Sutton.

Guardians
As an International boarder, you will need to have a Guardian in this country. This may be a relative, family friend, or you may ask the school to provide a Guardian, in which case we are able to offer the following option:
  • We select families known to the school to act as host family/Guardian
  • We will regularly visit the family home to ensure your child is well provided for
  • We will monitor any placements in order to ensure they are successful and happy
  • We will endeavour to meet any cultural, religious or specific needs as required
  • We will help to establish communication between parents and host families/guardians
  • We will carry out all necessary checks (including Criminal Record Bureau checks) on all adult family members resident in the household
  • You will live as a member of the Guardians family during half term holidays and official exeat weekends
Guardianship fees
If the school provides Guardianship, the fee per term is £300. This figure includes all meals, accommodation and laundry provision during half term breaks and exeat weekends.

Flights
Flights should be booked to coincide with school holidays. Should you need to book flights which do not coincide with term dates, please discuss with Miss Sutton prior to making your reservation.
