Charities

Ryde School supports various charities. 
Listed below are charities which are supported on a regular basis.

The whole school suports GHANALINK (IW) and several events ha ve been put on to support this cause, including AFRICAN SANCTUS, in March last year.  Last year, the sum of £2,210.57 was raised and so far, this year, £127.41.

  Senior School

Children in Need; The Earl Mountbatten Hospice; Jeans for Genes; Royal British Legion; Comic Relief

There is an active Sixth Form Charity Committee which, together with a Senior Teacher, co-ordinates events for charity.  In addition to this, each House adopts a charity to support throughout the year.

Junior School

Beaulieu House; Jubilee Sailing Trust; NSPCC, Comic Relief; The Earl Mountbatten Hospice; Wessex Cancer; Winston's Wish; Children in Need

In the autumn half term we  raised the following amounts for our chosen charities.

We raised £727.20 for "FoodAid" through our Harvest Festival collection.

Green Club raised £65.95 through various stalls selling cakes, plants etc, in support of "WaterAid".

Our weekly class cake sales have, so far this term raised £150.56 of which a £100 has been sent to "The Footprint Trust"

Our 'Wear it Pink' week for Raising Cancer Awareness,  during the last week of autumn half term raised the following amounts from the various activities.

Key ring photo fobs - £64.00,  Nail painting - £29.00,  Pink Cake Sales - £30.53,  the sale of Pink Badges for the Breast Care Campaign - £92.37 and a staggering £448.30 for our Sponsored Fun Run which took part during the children's games lesson of that week.  A big thank you to all who took part and helped in making this charity event such a success.
