Help the Heroes
CADET 150: ROUND THE ISLAND CHARITY RELAY WALK.
Over the weekend 8th and 9th May 10 Ryde School CCF cadets took part in the Round the Island Charity Relay Walk in aid of the Help for Heroes Charity.
This was one of a number of events organised to celebrate the 150 year anniversary of the formation of the cadet organisation.
Our cadets completed the leg between Brook and Ventnor on Saturday afternoon. They were also tasked to raise money for the charity outside of the Coop at Fishwater and along Ventnor Esplanade.
On Sunday the cadets were awarded medals by the Sheriff of the Isle of Wight at a parade of participating cadets at St Thomas’ Square in Newport.
The cadets taking part were Alex Reed, Oliver Jarvis, Joel Fitzpatrick, George Downer, Robert Pugh, Ben Fitzpatrick, Nicole Hinton, Katie Churchill, Emily Ball, Charlotte Lock-Dean, Ffion Noott and Amy Gaskin.
