Adventure Service Challenge
The Adventure Service Challenge (ASC) Scheme is an alternative activity available to members of Years 5 and 6 on Wednesday afternoons and as a Club. ASC is the junior section of The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and follows a similar pattern. Children participate in a wide range of activities, ranging from service to First Aid training, from model making to cookery and from learning about our country to the preparation for, and completion of, an expedition. Some of the material is delivered by staff in school, other parts by invited speakers and trips off-site are also undertaken. By completing all eight sections, a member achieves either the Junior stage 2 or the Senior stage 1 badge before leaving the Junior School. The Scheme may be continued in the Senior School.
