The Caucasian Chalk Circle
With two nights at school and a tour to the Quay Arts Centre, CCC was a fantastic opportunity for students to understand Brecht in action. With its mix of a real character with caricatures costumed in newspaper crowns, bling jewellery, ruffs, hats in various shapes and sizes, this was political theatre at its very best. The ensemble approach worked really well, giving students the chance to play many different roles and to create a very real mix of humour and tension.

Crazy for You
(Rober Longford Photography)
It’s hard to understand why Crazy for You isn’t better known. Glorious Gershwin melodies sung by pupils with real star quality, classically comic lines as funny as any of the Marx Brothers’, dancing routines to knock your socks off……..
From start to finish, it’s been a thoroughly enjoyable affair with pupils and staff working really hard to make the show the success it is! Hope you didn’t miss it

Oh What A Lovely War
A cast of thirty, supported by a live band of seven and a crew of three, sallied forth into the trenches of World War One in 'Oh What a Lovely War'. They performed for two nights at school and on tour at the Quay Arts Centre.
Multi-role playing, song and dance, humour, biting satire, harrowing facts and statistics juxtaposed with the most poignant of scenes, made this a truly memorable experience. |
