D of E - Bronze Qualifying Expedition, New Forest

The Bronze Qualifying Expedition to the New Forest (2 - 4 May), was an unqualified success. There were six groups who were well prepared, and completed their routes with confidence over two days. The weather was, for a change, dry, bright and warm; we stayed at Foxlease, which was a delightful site. One group managed to finish the first day after eight and a half hours, and were exhausted by the end of it.

However, all groups finished in good time on the Sunday. The Assessors were very impressed, and expressed how enjoyable it had been, working with our students.

I have to say, that it was one of the best set of Bronze groups we have had over the years - fine cooking, accurate  navigation and good humour throughout. We look forward to some fine presentations on Wednesday, 4 June.
