“It’s not wHether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get back up”

Throughout the school, children are encouraged to participate fully in sport. All children, regardless of their ability, aim to reach their potential and benefit hugely from the exercise, team spirit and sense of achievement that our sports programme offers.

The facilities for sport are extensive and are of an excellent standard. The purpose-built sports hall, the all-weather surface for tennis and netball, the outdoor pitches for hockey, rugby and football means that all these sports can take place throughout their season.  An athletics track and beautifully kept cricket square take centre stage in the summer months.  Smallbrook Sports stadium, just a mile from the School, also provides the school with a large AstroTurf surface and is used extensively for hockey.

Curriculum sport is split into terms and run by specialist PE teachers.  A strong fixtures list and tour programme helps to ensure children can represent the school and compete competitively against other teams, as well as representing their house in inter-house sporting events. Many children also play for Island teams and some play at County level.

Competitive sailing based out of Seaview Yacht Club, and tennis played at Ryde Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club are just two of the sports offered as extra-curricular clubs.  Netball, football, dance and fitness are also available within the programme of activities.
