Resources

We are pleased to recommend some resources and apps that we have found make a positive difference to children and young people’s moods:

Think Ninja is a great app and it is presently free for 10 - 18 year olds. It is easy to download and has proved helpful in raising mood, calming the mind and understanding mental health.

The Isle of Wight Local Offer is a useful website if you are looking for local support and information. It is run by the Isle of Wight Council and is organised into age groups.

MindEd For Families is an online resource centre for learning more about mental health and for signposting you to targeted information.

Children's mental health | Every Mind Matters | One You is an NHS / Public Health England funded website with excellent parent pages (especially with regard to the Covid context)

The Parents and carers (annafreud.org) section on the Anna Freud website is brilliant and we highly recommend a read. It is full of up to date information and advice.

The Isle of Wight Youth Trust is a free counselling service that supports many young people and organises island based events and strategies. Ryde School is subscribed to its Mental Health Charter.

The IOW CYP Crisis Hotline is the number you or your child/young person should ring if you need immediate help or support: 0300 303 1590
