The Personal Development program throughout the school is designed to help pupils to develop their self-confidence and self-awareness so that they can perform at their best and make choices in their life that will be well informed.
Nursery and Pre-Prep
The children are guided by the moral code of six Golden Rules;
- Do listen to people
- Do be kind and helpful
- Do be gentle
- Do be honest
- Do look after property
- Do work hard
Through weekly Circle Times and assemblies, the children learn how to be good citizens. They learn to work together and make choices, gain an understanding of basic human needs and begin to realise that animals have similar needs too. Exploring our diverse world and looking at people who help us, enables the children to being able to understand their own identity.
Membership of the four school Houses, Trinity, Seaford, Chine and Hanover, each with its own much loved House call, provides the children with a strong sense of belonging.
Self-confidence is developed as life skills are explored, practised and secured and a foundation laid on which to build future learning.
The Prep Years
Personal Development in Prep is established around The Heart Centre. Based on the philosophies that permeate throughout the whole school through the Coaching Programme. Starting with The Heart is the way into all our learning; from Mental Health, Relationships Education, Online Safety, Britishness, Economics, Physical Health, how our brains work, right through to learning about the value of sleep.

The Heart Centre is our hub for everything Personal Development. For parents and children we are here to help you. We find lost things, calm your mind, coach you with your goals and worries or most importantly to celebrate successes. Pop in for a biscuit or a chat. We are always here to help.
Our entire curriculum is underpinned by character education, and showing these desirable qualities throughout your lessons can result in gaining a prestigious, bespoke, crafted house point token. Which is counted in the entrance hall tubes.
You can acquire these by being caring, open minded, a risk taker, inquiring, showing good communication, being reflective, showing clear thinking skills or having excellent principles. We aim for well balanced and knowledgeable children
