Once a Rydeian, always a Rydeian.

The character, confidence and community we build at Ryde School stay with us for life. Today, you have the power to pass that legacy on. Whether you choose to invest financially in our bursary and building funds or donate your time to mentor and guide our pupils, your support directly shapes the future of Ryde School and the Isle of Wight.

Financial Giving: Investing in People and Places

We believe in maintaining the highest standards of education while keeping our doors wide open to talent, regardless of financial background. You can support our school financially in two key areas:

The Bursary Fund

A Ryde School education should not be defined by a family’s financial circumstances. The Isle of Wight is rich with talented, bright, and ambitious young minds who would thrive in our environment.

  • The Impact: Your donations fund fully or partially subsidised places for local Island children.
  • The Goal: To ensure that any child with the potential to thrive at Ryde School has the opportunity to do so.
  • How to Give: Set up a monthly recurring donation, make a one-off gift, or discuss leaving a legacy in your Will.

Contact us and we will call you at your convenience to discuss.

Building & Facility Projects

From the historic elegance of Westmont to our modern boarding houses, our campus is a unique place to learn. To remain a we must continuously evolve.

  • The Impact: Capital donations fund state-of-the-art science labs, creative arts studios, modern sports facilities, and the ongoing preservation of our historic listed buildings.
  • The Goal: Providing inspiring learning spaces that match the ambition of our students

Pupil Support – Share Your Time and Expertise

Some of the most valuable gifts you can give are your experience, your story and your guidance. Here is how you can help prepare our students for the world and their futures:

Navigate the transition from school to university and the workplace alongside a current student.

  • 1-to-1 Mentoring: Partner with a Sixth Former interested in your industry to offer advice on university choices, degree apprenticeships or early career steps.
  • e-Mentoring: Provide occasional email guidance to young alumni who have recently graduated and are entering the job market.

Inspire the next generation by sharing your journey.

  • Career Spotlights: Participate in our lunchtime careers series to talk about a day in the life of your profession.
  • Subject Talks: Connect your real-world work back to the classroom (e.g. speaking to biology students about a career in marine conservation).

Help us bridge the gap between academic success and career readiness.

  • Workplace Skills Workshops: Run a virtual or in-person workshop on networking, writing a standout CV, or mastering public speaking.
  • Mock Interviews: Volunteer for an afternoon to conduct practice university or job interviews with our Year 13 students, providing constructive, real-world feedback.

How Will You Help Shape Tomorrow?

Whether you help fund a new initiative, fund a month of a child’s education or spend an hour conducting mock interviews, you are actively strengthening the Ryde School community.

To discuss any of these opportunities in more detail, or to tailor your support to a specific department or interest, please contact our Alumni Office at alumni@rydeschool.net.
