Welcome to Westhill Nursery
Our Nursery, for children aged 2 to 4 years old, is set in a beautiful period Victorian building and has its own purpose built garden for the children to run around and flourish in.
Being set within the Ryde School site means that the children benefit from the wider school facilities of the outdoor learning Yurt, large playing fields and the theatre. It has been sympathetically designed by an interior designer and artist to give a warm home from home experience.
Our award winning nursery offers individual gentle care and the nursery is run by a friendly and fully qualified team in a nurturing social environment.
We live within our Rainbow Rules and we begin early to learn and practise our School values of Ambition, Responsibility, Courage and Respect and provide an engaging weekly plan of activities covering all the areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
The framework that their days are intentionally designed to help them learn through play, explore safely and build fundamental life skills and the the vital building blocks every child needs to thrive:
- Communication & Language: We build a language-rich environment where children learn to listen, express their ideas, and grow their vocabulary through stories, songs, and play.
- Physical Development: From active outdoor climbing to delicate table-top crafts, we help children develop both the core strength and the fine finger control needed for early writing.
- Personal, Social & Emotional Development: We support children as they make friends, manage their feelings, and build the confidence and independence they need to love learning.
Communication with parents is key and parents can access their child’s learning Journal through an online system called Tapestry where you can keep up to date with their learning journey.
Our Nursery children are provided with healthy mid-morning and afternoon snacks and enjoy a delicious hot lunch freshly prepared daily. We have our own dining room where our children eat together with a member of staff on hand to help with food cutting, pouring drinks and guiding children to good table manners and healthy food choices.
Our dedicated sleep room ensures that the little ones can keep their routines and have their much needed daily sleep which is supervised in the comfort of a beautifully decorated, quiet and cosy room.
A beautiful Nursery in a beautiful setting with caring and attentive staff, my child is thriving and loves it there.
Going to this Nursery makes you feel like part of a family and I love all the traditional things they do with the children,it certainly has been enriching for my daughter.
