Senior School
Results & Futures
We are proud of our examination results and university destinations and other pathways our pupils take on leaving Ryde School. These are by no means the only measure of our success;
Our purpose is to help our pupils grow as independent, confident individuals with ambition and purpose and the well-rounded education your child receives at Ryde ensures resilience, confidence and a desire to learn both in and outside of the classroom.
Individually, pupils are guided on all aspects of post-school progression to students and parents. This encompasses UK and global further and higher education advice, alongside guidance on entering employment and all combinations of education and work.
GCSE Results 2026
Ryde School is celebrating another year of very successful GCSE results.
32% of all GCSE results were at grade 9 or 8, which is the best achievement at this level at the School since 9-1 grading was introduced (excluding Covid-adjusted years). In line with the excellent results in the past few years, almost half, 49.5% where graded 9 to 7. Pupils will rightfully be enjoying their success after two years of focus and hard work.

A Level & IB
This year’s leavers attained 48.6% of grades at A*-A and 71.0% of grades at A*-B, representing the best results at this level since 2014 (excluding Covid-adjusted years).
Notably, almost a quarter of pupils achieved straight A* or A grades in their A Level subjects.
This success follows on from the best-ever IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) results earlier in the summer, where pupils achieved an exceptional average score of 36.08 points – significantly outperforming this year’s global average of 30.88.
The IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) results were also excellent with an average score of 137.3 UCAS points, higher than AAB at A Level. This superb performance across all three of the Sixth Form pathways reflects the outstanding dedication and academic ambition of the 2026 cohort of pupils.

Futures
The Sixth Form Team, along with Sixth Form tutors, offer general, specific and tailored advice on all aspects of post-school progression to students and parents. This encompasses UK and global further and higher education advice, alongside guidance on entering employment and all combinations of education and work.
Sixth Form tutors provide advice and guidance and we encourage students to drop in to see the Sixth Form Coordinator & Careers and UCAS Advisor to discuss career and future options.
The map of destinations shows the wide range of universities, courses and employers our students progress to after their departure from Ryde School. We believe there is no one set future and an open, honest dialogue between the student, parents and tutors needs to be sustained throughout the Sixth Form to ensure they set out on the path which best suits them.

Ryde School pupils can be very proud of another year of excellent GCSE results. These results reflect the hard work and ambition they have shown over the past two years that has combined with the professionalism and dedication of the School’s staff. All of us at Ryde are delighted to receive these great results following on from the very impressive A Level and IB results our Upper Sixth leavers achieved.
