Children can join the nursery from when they turn two and you can receive up to 15 hours of government funded care after they have turned three years old.
Every day is an open day at Ryde School. Contact the admissions team to arrange your personal visit at your convenience.
We hold group open events at various times throughout the year and if you would prefer to attend one of these once we have your initial enquiry we will invite you when the dates are published.
Our school days vary across the sections of the school but mainly fit within an 8.30am start (Breakfast Club available from 7.30am) and a 3.30/4 or 4.15 end (with Supper Club available until 6pm).

We have a maximum class size of 22 in the Senior School and 15 in the Sixth Form. Prep School averages 12 to 20.
Please visit the the how to apply section of the website where you will find all details including the registration form link.
Pupils are considered for entry into any year group throughout the School where there are places available
Yes, all children applying to Ryde will sit a small number of assessments. Although we do not run competitive entrance exams, we do need to ensure that all pupils can access our academic curriculum.
In the case of students entering the Sixth Form from other British curriculum schools, admission is based on interview, references/school reports and GCSE results.
We expect students joining our Sixth Form on any of our three programmes (IB Diploma, A Level Plus or IB Career-related Programme) to have a minimum five GCSE passes at grade 5 or above with grades 6 in the subjects they wish to study at A Level or Higher Level IB (students for IBCP need at least 5 grade 5s to access the course.)
We have a set uniform at Ryde which changes as children progress through the school. All uniform is available through an online shop and also the uniform shop on Union Street in Ryde.
Costs are kept to a minimum by specifying a limited amount that is compulsory with other items available if wanted (but are not compulsory to have branded). Nursery, Prep-Prep, Prep School, Senior and Sixth Form uniforms are detailed on the online shop website.
Parent volunteers run a successful Pre-Loved Uniform Shop where you can donate items for the uniform shop at any time by dropping off to Chloé in the Fiveways Office. The shop is open every Tuesday during term time 3pm to 4.30pm
All items to the pre-loved uniform shop are donation only and all monies raised go to our new bursary fund. Parents who would like to raise their own money from uniform please use the popular Facebook page run by parents HERE.
We are keen to support families by reducing the total cost of uniform purchasing. As more people donate uniform, the more uniform there will be available for purchasing at a lower price and different sizes. We all know that children can grow quickly and need new uniform. To minimise the impact of this on the planet, we want to support the reusing of school uniform.
Where does the money raised go? All donations go to the restricted bursary fund which supports families on a case by case basis. The children and families supported may be looked after children, be in foster or familial care or have had a significant childhood trauma due to the loss of one or both parents.
Your donations may include support towards any of the following:
- Trip costs
- Music lesson costs
- Provision of laptop/chromebook to carry out school work
- In exceptional circumstances, there may also be some assistance provided with fees
All fees are clearly displayed in the Fees (link) section of the website where you can also find details of payment, fees in advance etc. Fees are reviewed annually and will be published by the end of the Spring Term.
Direct debit is preferable as a payment method and attracts a discounted fee.
We offer a broad curriculum across Ryde School at GCSE and Sixth Form both in the A Level, International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and Intenrational Baccalaureate Careers-related Programme which aims to challenge and inspire all pupils throughout their educational journey.
For GCSE subjects you can view all subjects here.
For Sixth Form Subjects you can view these here.
In Westhill Nursery any hours not covered by the 15 Government funded hours, can be paid for by Childcare vouchers or the Tax-Free Childcare scheme.
