Admissions
Welcome to Admissions
Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions your family will make and thank you for considering Ryde School.
We want to make that journey as simple, straightforward and reassuring as possible and the admissions team are here to support you every step of the way.
We believe that the best way to understand our unique atmosphere is to experience it firsthand. That is why every day is an open day here. While we love hosting our formal open mornings, we much prefer you to see us exactly as we are on a normal school day: hearing the laughter between lessons, seeing the focus in our classrooms, and witnessing the genuine warmth that defines our community.
We do not believe in rehearsed tours, we want authenticity throughout our admissions process, and we invite you to see us as we are.
Get in touch to discuss your child and organise that visit now. We are here to help. You can call us on 01983 617970 or email admissions@rydeschool.net

How to Apply
Children can join us in all years throughout the Nursery and Prep (to Year 6). In the Senior School, typically children join us in Year 7, Year 9 and the Lower Sixth (Year 12) but they can join us in other years if you wish and places are available.
Our goal is to make the application process as simple as possible but it does vary, especially when applying to the Sixth Form and specific information is below. International boarding applications are considered throughout the year but early registration is advised especially for those applying for scholarships.
We are also very experienced in supporting families who are relocating to the island and understand that flexibility is required and are happy to work with you and your timelines.
The learning journey can begin from the age of two years old at Ryde School. If you would like to find out more, we would be delighted to arrange a personal tour with our Nursery Manager, Mrs Hickmott, and families are also welcome to come and enjoy the Westhill Nursery Stay and Play groups.

Welcome
The term before your child is due to start with us, all joining information will be sent to allow us and you to prepare for starting the exciting education journey at Ryde School. The first week of term in September is all about induction and team building before launching into the Sixth Form timetable in the second week and starting the IB or A level journey.
Ryde School is the most friendly and positive schools I’ve been part of. Some places have a ‘yes, but’ culture, whereas Ryde School has ‘can do’ running through it.
