U13a Netball Victory

The under 13As came away victorious last week in the Cup competition hosted by Embley School.

The girls played six tough matches. First were two consecutive matches against Embley A and PGS, both of which were tough games but the team won against both sides with some amazing interceptions and excellent shooting stats!

They next moved on to play PHS, our closest game yet! With a tricky start and a lot of mid court ball, half-time ended 1-0 to PHS. Half-time huddle discussions from captains were what the team needed to turn up the intensity and the team brought it back for a 2-2 draw. The last game was one close to home, against the Island Free School, the girls were incredibly light on their feet and interceptions came flying in! The game ended with their biggest win and most goals scored, a 15-5 victory and a well-deserved result after a big day of netball.

Going in as the 2023 champions, the girls had a weight on their shoulders going into the 2024 tournament, however they played well throughout the competition and did themselves, and Ryde, proud. Congratulations to all the players for their fantastic performance!
