Isle of Wight Sports Awards

Last Thursday saw the 49th annual Isle of Wight Sports Awards, with 29 categories being tightly contested.

Ryde School had 15 individual finalists who all deserve congratulations for their sporting achievements in 2023. Our finalists were Aleks GP (Rugby, Hockey, Discus), Alice (Netball), Archie (Athletics), Amelia (Netball), Mr Ball (Coaching), Emily (Triathlon and Cross Country), Fred (Rowing), Harrison (Cycling), Kasia (Football), Tilly (Netball), Mr Percy (Discus), Ollie M (Sailing), Ollie J (Athletics and Tumbling), Poppy (Netball), and Remy (Athletics, Rugby, Football and Basketball), along with countless others included in various teams that were finalists.

The night was a fabulous success, celebrating the Island’s best sporting talent. Congratulations to Harrison who took home the Junior Boys’ trophy, Tilly who won the Intermediate Girls’ and to Mr Ball (Coach) who received an award for services to sport. Well done everyone!
