Outstanding A level and IB results for Ryde
Ryde School pupils are celebrating their best results in over a decade following an exceptional set of A Level and IB grades.
This year’s leavers attained 48.6% of grades at A*-A and 71.0% of grades at A*-B, representing the best results at this level since 2014 (excluding Covid-adjusted years).
Notably, almost a quarter of pupils achieved straight A* or A grades in their A Level subjects.
This success follows on from the best-ever IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) results earlier in the summer, where pupils achieved an exceptional average score of 35.8 points - significantly outperforming this year’s global average of 30.88.
The IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) results were also excellent with an average score of 137.3 UCAS points, higher than AAB at A Level. This superb performance across all three of the Sixth Form pathways reflects the outstanding dedication and academic ambition of the 2026 cohort of pupils.
Head Master, Will Turner, said: “These achievements further cement the School's reputation for academic excellence across our diverse range of Sixth Form pathways. These outstanding grades are a result of the pupils’ hard work and aspirations coupled with excellent teaching, individual support and careful guidance from our dedicated staff. This departing cohort of pupils can be immensely proud of their academic achievements.
"They can also take enormous pride in all their successes outside the classroom, be they in sport, drama, music, sailing, outdoor activities or the numerous other areas of school life in which they have flourished. That they are heading off to study such a range of courses shows how the School nurtures the interests of each individual. I wish them all the very best for their future."
