Ryde School Celebrates Historic IB Results

Ryde School is delighted to announce that this summer’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme results are the best in the School’s history. Pupils have achieved an exceptional average score of 35.83, significantly outperforming the global average, which this year is 30.88.

This record-breaking performance reflects the dedication and academic ambition of the 2026 cohort. The IB Diploma, scored out of 45 points, saw 25% of candidates achieve 40 points or more, a feat equivalent to A*A*A at A Level.

Individual successes were numerous among the top achievers. Felix led the cohort with an outstanding 43 points and will study Engineering in Zurich. Christina and Charles both earned 40 points; Christina will study Law in her native Germany, while Charles, a British boarder, heads to Durham University to study General Engineering. Deputy Head Girl Livia, an Island resident, secured 39 points and a prestigious place at the University of Oxford to study French and Italian. Ludwig (38 points) will study Architecture at UCL, and Nastya (38 points) will head to Durham to study Finance.

Head Master Will Turner commented: "These fantastic results are a testament to the hard work of our pupils and staff. To achieve the best historical average in the School's history is a phenomenal achievement for this group of pupils. They can be incredibly proud of their achievements"

Ryde School is proud to offer the IBDP alongside the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) and A Levels which ensures we have pathways for every academic level and learning style.  The IB grades for those taking the IBCP were also released, with excellent grades being achieved.  The final outcomes of the Ryde School pupils taking the IBCP will be shared in August when the BTEC grades, which make up part of their course, are released alongside A Level results.
