Students savour Spanish trip

Spanish students enjoyed a vibrant cultural and linguistic trip to El Puerto de Santa María.

The itinerary for the Andalusian adventure focused on bringing the Spanish language to life, with pupils touring the historic cathedral and castle before visiting a local market to source ingredients for a group meal.

Blake M, Leigh O, and Jasmine H took the lead on purchasing, navigating the stalls with impressive confidence.

The weekend was packed with cultural workshops, from paella making and flamenco dancing to daily Spanish lessons. Pupils put their skills to the test, successfully ordering a variety of traditional tapas, with many trying local delicacies for the very first time.

Carnaval and Celebrations

A Sunday boat trip to Cádiz allowed the group to experience the city's famous annual Carnaval.

Navigating the vibrant, costume-clad crowds, pupils visited the Tavira Tower to take in panoramic views via the camera obscura.

The trip concluded with a ceremony celebrating the students' progress. Certificates were awarded for the completion of the Spanish course, alongside special prizes for those who excelled in the ‘in-house’ speaking competition.

Our thanks go to Mr Brett for organising the trip, and to Mr Jackson and Mrs Dyer for their dedicated support throughout.
