Ryde pupils revel in World Book Day fun
Ryde School was transformed into a land of magic and myth in celebration of World Book Day 2026.
The children became artists, storytellers, ancient characters and animals as part of a packed day of activities across our Prep School.
At Fiveways, a jungle theme captured the imagination, with the children and staff, including our Head of Prep, Matt Thomas, dressing up as their favourite animals.
The year groups combined later in the day for an afternoon of World Book Day activities.

In the Prep School, the children spent the day building new stories for traditional fairytale characters.
Inspired by Mrs Kirkby’s magical portraits, they created noble characters worthy of ancient tales, designed costumes that speak of royalty and magic, built miniature kingdoms, and planned epic adventures.

Through teamwork and imagination, they helped craft a world of dragons, wizards, knights, and princesses - all wrapped up in a storybook kingdom of their own.
